Get Started
Welcome to VR Training at Sam Walton Development Complex (SWDC)!
Here’s an overview of how it works:
1. Reserve a VR Training room
- Reserve a VR Training room at the SWDC via Outlook, just like reserving any other bookable meeting room.
- There are 3 available VR Training rooms to choose from:
- SWDC-2FL-VR 1
- SWDC-2FL-VR 2
- SWDC-2FL-VR 3
- Be sure to reserve as a Room, and not an Attendee.
- There are 3 available VR Training rooms to choose from:
2. Before you go
- Use our listing of available modules to pre-pick what module you want to complete, or just pick one when you get to the room.
- Make sure you have your WIN handy! You’ll need it to get started.
3. While you are there
- The VR training rooms are located on the 2nd Floor of the SWDC building.
- Each VR training room is set up with equipment and ready to use.
- Follow the instructions in the room and on the screen to start & complete the training module.
- Contact the Learning Center Office, 2nd Floor of SWDC, or call: 479-204-0211, if you experience any issues accessing the room or equipment.
What to expect:
Using VR, you will be immersed into an unfamiliar experience and environment - it is important to remember that your senses will need to adjust. You will have to switch from viewing flat content and using it with both sight and touch, to immersing yourself in an environment in which you interact by aiming your head.
- You will be training in a 360-degree VR environment and will need to be able to turn your head and body around to see the full environment.
- We suggest you remain seated during the entire VR training experience.
- Some associates may not be comfortable with the conditions created or experiences simulated under VR training, and may experience motion sickness or dizziness.
- If you experience any of these or similar symptoms you should end training immediately.
After training, use the provided cleaning materials to clean the headset and controllers. Use this link for more information.
