Labor Relations

The Labor Relations team has been long viewed as an advocate for associates, a trusted partner for Operations, and a key function for People. 

  • Operates as a link between associates and operations
  • Offers training to associates to educate them on hourly associates’ rights protected by the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
  • Helps managers advance their people skills and learn about Walmart culture
  • We cover all the business units in the US, including Stores, Sam’s Clubs, Supply Chain, E-commerce and Mergers and Acquisitions

Business Segments

HR Business Partners in Merchandise, Realty, Central Ops, Supply Chain, and Health and Wellness.

  • Help leaders develop and execute strategies that enable business outcomes 
  • Implement talent practices within each of the business units they support

Compensation

  • Aligns rewards and performance by linking associates’ financial success to the company and its shareholders
  • Attracts and retains qualified associates, rewards individual and business unit performance, and provides greater financial rewards to associates who go above and beyond their job responsibilities

Global Business Solutions

GBS makes sure Walmart has digital solutions that are efficient, secure and enjoyable to use.

  • Provides enterprise technology, information security, and integrated solutions to Walmart
  • Has over 10,000 associates and contractors around the world including:
    • Corporate systems technologists
    • Cybersecurity
    • Machine learning, AI, and Automation
    • Collaboration platforms
    • Engineers    

Corporate Strategy

  • Drives strategic initiatives to improve the talent management experience and deliver key business outcomes
  • Partners and delivers on special projects and organization design strategies
  • Supports human resource business partners in their role    

Associate Experience

  • Creates and curates resources with the associates’ experience in mind
  • Works with other areas of the business to design experiences with associates in mind
