Walmart Business Stories: Jam Time Play

Award-winning indoor play spaces

When raising their two children in Los Angeles, Mandy and Malcolm Sim found themselves visiting a lot of indoor play spaces. Whether they were at a playdate or a birthday party, the couple couldn’t help but imagine all the ways they would do things better. Finally, they realized they didn’t need to imagine it—they could build it. So they returned to their East Coast roots and founded Jam Time Play in Sudbury, Massachusetts.

At Jam Time, Mandy and Malcolm work to create a safe, clean and stress-free place for kids to play. It offers climbing structures, playhouses, kiddie gym equipment and toys for all ages.

"The thing about owning indoor playgrounds is that they're not just for kids. They're for the community, and—let's be honest—the parents," says Mandy.

That’s why Jam Time lets them join in the fun with mommy-and-me style classes, or relax in lounges with free WiFi, coffee and organic snacks. With several awards from local papers and four operating locations, it’s safe to say Jam Time has hit the big time.

To keep it all running smoothly, the Sims rely on Walmart Business. Instead of driving to several stores to find everything they need, they can order it all in one place.

"Cleaning supplies, diapers, snacks... The other day we even ordered an air hockey table," says Mandy. "Shipping this stuff has saved us so much time."
