Veteran Venture: Boosting Business Success with Veteran-owned Business Certifications

The skills our military veterans developed while serving our country like leading diverse teams and making critical decisions under pressure naturally align with the entrepreneurial spirit. Starting and growing a business doesn't have to be a solo mission; there's ample support to smooth the transition from service to entrepreneurship.

A veteran-owned business certification from the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) or the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) can be an incredible growth accelerator. These certifications unlock exclusive opportunities and partnerships especially curated for veterans embarking on their business ventures.

The NaVOBA offers Certified Veteran’s Business Enterprise (VBE) and Certified Service-Disabled Veteran’s Business Enterprise (SDVBE) certifications. Both provide a nationally recognized standard that signals to potential customers and partners that they are working with veteran-owned businesses.

The NVBDC also certifies service-disabled and veteran-owned businesses to ensure they meet the standards that government and commercial marketplaces require. It also offers a wide range of networking events, educational sessions and supplier development programs.

These certifications are more than just a seal of approval; they're a nod to the business community about the unique value and perspective veterans bring to the table. They’re excellent marketing tools by highlighting the business’s readiness and capability to deliver.
