Popular Interior Design Trends to Make Your Office Look Awesome in 2025

Modular, attractive & sustainable

When you design your office, you have the chance to set the tone for all the work you’ll do there. You get to tell the story of your business and support the workers who write that story every day. Today, we know more than ever about what makes an office great. From the aesthetic touches that project an atmosphere of innovation, to the desks where the magic happens, designers are pushing work into the future. Here are the key trends driving the office forward.

Designing the office of the future

Modular collaboration

Workplace flexibility is about more than whether to work in the office or elsewhere. It’s also about choosing where in the office to work. Different environments suit different tasks. While a programmer might need quiet time at their desk to code new features, they’ll need a collaborative workspace to brainstorm those features in the first place.

Not every office has the space for desks, focus nooks, conference rooms and collaborative lounges. Modular collaboration spaces tackle that problem by giving employees furniture they can manipulate to create the environment they want to work in.

Need a circle of seats to promote an open dialogue? Modular seats can make it happen. What if one person needs to lead a discussion or make a presentation? Re-arrange those seats into rows. Bonus points if they’re different heights, so nobody has to try and look around their coworker’s head.

Natural beauty

It’s becoming increasingly clear that people need to be around nature to do their best work. That’s led to what designers call biophilic design, where natural light and plants are part of the working environment. Not only does it make your workplace more beautiful, but it can also contribute to more satisfied, engaged and productive workers. Natural light can help to alleviate stress. It can also improve sleep quality and mood. When employees feel their best, they can do their best work.

If you have the option, consider adding more windows (especially east-facing ones) to your workspace. If that’s not realistic, daylight glazing your windows can bring in more light. To stretch the daylight you already have, try to arrange your desks to be closer to the windows or place mirrors throughout the office to bring in the sun.

Don’t forget the plants! They can help purify the air, leading to clearer thinking and more productive workers. It can also help the office feel more organic and comfortable. They’re also just nice to look at.

Start by bringing low-maintenance plants into the office. If that goes well, you can add to them. Living walls can serve as stunning decor, while green roofs and courtyards can give employees dedicated green space where they can take a break and reset.

Sustainable design

It’s not enough to add green to your workspace—you need to embody green values, too. According to research, the majority of workers want their employers to invest in sustainability efforts.

If you have the opportunity to design your workplace, you have lots of opportunities to use less and to employ sustainable, eco-friendly materials. For example, you could use LED lights to keep your office illuminated while using less energy. You might also install solar panels on your roof to capture sunlight and reduce your carbon footprint.

If you need to work with the space you’ve got, look for office furniture made with eco-friendly building materials. Sourcing furniture that meets sustainability certifications such as FSC approval can minimize its effect on the environment. If you can source that furniture locally, you can save even more by avoiding shipping emissions.
