SUNITA VENUGOPAL
DIRECTOR - COMMUNICATIONS
Sunita is responsible for Walmart Labs external and internal branding, advising senior management on corporate brand and other associated topics. Reporting to the center head, she ensures alignment from India to the overall Walmart branding guidelines and goals.
She identifies public relations opportunities, threats, and best practices and provide strategic expertise to the senior management by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication on key messages. Serving as a company spokesperson, she ensures statements of high sensitivity and impact are provided to external stakeholder as and when needed. Currently, she is also responsible for the overall direction of Digital Communications strategy.
Sunita also strategizes to drive industry body relationships and has successfully worked with organizations like NASSCOM, Zinnov, AMCHAM, IMA, Anita Borg and WeTech among others. She is passionate to learn more on digitization and how it influences the role of corporate communications.
With over 18 years of experience, Sunita has a specialization in public relations, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, crisis communications, campaign development, speech writing, CEO communications and social media. She also has experience of working across industries with leading organizations like IBM, WeP Peripherals, Good Relations and Enterprise Public Relations.
When not at work, she's busy coaching people to achieve their goals.
