Rick Ault joined Walmart in 1994 and brings more than 30 years of experience in Walmart security, spanning Asset Protection/Loss Prevention, Global Security, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery planning, Associate Vetting, Insider Threat and Cybersecurity. Throughout his distinguished career at Walmart, Rick has held various pivotal roles, including Director of Global Security Governance, Director of Strategy & Innovation for GISAT (Global Investigations, Security, Aviation, and Travel), Sr. Manager of Enterprise Security Testing and Enterprise Vulnerability Management and Manager of IT Enterprise Risk Management.
Rick was hired as Walmart’s first BISP (Business Information Security Partner) in December of 2023, a role in which he leverages his extensive expertise to support the company’s Commerce Platforms and Emerging Tech organization. His alignment with these sectors is a strategic move to closely integrate with business, product and tech teams, thereby enhancing security while driving InfoSec’s mission to accelerate Walmart’s growth. Rick is based out of the David Glass Technology Center in Bentonville.
Rick's dedication extends beyond his professional life. He is married with two daughters and a beloved Goldendoodle named Oliver. Actively involved in his community, Rick currently serves as Vice President of his local Lions Club Chapter and is a Master Mason. His commitment to community service is further evidenced by his past role as executive director of a local MAIN STREET program dedicated to the historic preservation and economic vitality of small businesses. Additionally, Rick and his wife own and operate a 24/7 Emergency Food Pantry. Rick is a former board member of a local non-profit organization focused on the welfare of foster children.
