With more than 26 years of experience at Walmart, Myra Herrington is currently the Group Director of InfoSec Business Engagement and Communications. Her diverse career at the company spans across Merchandising, Corporate Compliance and Information Security. As the leader of InfoSec Business Engagement and Communications, she is responsible for portfolio management, business continuity, disaster recovery, financial planning & expenditure and human-centric cybersecurity for the global InfoSec organization.
Myra holds numerous certifications, including the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC), GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT), Six Sigma Black Belt and Archer Certified Developer.
Myra is committed to promoting technology and cybersecurity careers. She established a high school mentoring program. This program pairs experienced professionals with high school students in the NWA area, offering them essential guidance and mentorship to shape their future trajectories.
In 2018, Myra took a proactive step towards addressing the underrepresentation of women in cybersecurity by founding the Walmart Sponsorship to the Women in Cybersecurity organization. This initiative aims to make significant progress in increasing women's involvement in the cyber field.
Beyond her professional contributions, Myra is actively involved in her community, dedicating her time to youth development through her church and work-sponsored programs.
