2025 Annual Enrollment FAQ
Go to your personalized Benefits Guide at One.Walmart.com/AE starting Oct. 12. You can learn what’s new for your location, see if your plans are changing next year, check the benefits you’re already enrolled in, and see everything else you can enroll in. Plus, you’ll find more tools for living better that don’t require enrollment.
Once you’ve reviewed your Benefits Guide, just choose any of the gold “Enroll now” or “Click here to get started” buttons to go to Online Enrollment. You can also go straight to One.Walmart.com/Enroll.
Annual Enrollment is optional for all associates. But if you’re in a location where your current medical plan will no longer be available in 2025, you should complete an enrollment session to make sure you get the medical plan you want. If you don’t make another choice, you’ll be enrolled in the Premier Plan at your current coverage tier (such as associate-only or family). To see if you’re in one of these areas, and to learn more about everything that’s available, see your personalized Benefits Guide at One.Walmart.com/AE.
Even if you’re not affected by a plan change, Annual Enrollment is still a great time to look at your current benefits, think about any changes you might want to make, make sure your beneficiaries are up to date, and learn about all the ways you can live better in 2025.
Most areas won’t see any major changes for 2025. But there are some changes in limited areas, and we’re expanding some health care and mental health programs nationwide. You can see what affects you and learn more on your Benefits Guide at One.Walmart.com/AE.
- Same coverage, now nationwide. All locations will now get the same level of coverage when you see any health care provider in your plan’s network with the Premier, Contribution, and Saver plans. Some areas that had no out-of-network coverage will begin to cover non-network providers.
- Find a quality provider. Next year an updated provider directory will include transparent ratings based on provider history of proper care procedures and better patient outcomes Learn more at One.Walmart.com/QualityProviders.
- Expanded coverage for cancer and heart surgery. Most cancers will now qualify for a diagnosis and treatment review to see if you could benefit from an onsite visit to Mayo Clinic. And all eligible non-emergency heart surgeries will now be eligible for a medical record review, with a possible onsite visit at Cleveland Clinic. Learn more at One.Walmart.com/COE.
- Physical therapy at no cost to you. Feel better quicker with virtual physical therapy and get a $0 copay with most medical plans starting Jan. 1, 2025. It’s part of our commitment to giving access to great care, anywhere. Participants enrolled in the Saver Plan will have to meet their deductible first. Learn more at One.Walmart.com/OmadaHealth.
- More help when you need it. In 2025, if you’re enrolled in most medical plans you may receive a call from AiRCare offering personalized support for your overall well-being. They can also connect you to the Walmart benefits and/or community programs that can help support your well-being. Learn more at One.Walmart.com/AiRCare.
- Medical plan third-party administrators. In some areas, the Walmart medical plans will have a new third-party administrator. This means the list of network providers may change along with who processes claims. See below for more information.
- Hit your savings goals faster with ONE@Work. You’ve got bills, but you also have goals. Use ONE@Work to automatically save part of your paycheck and earn interest on your savings when you bank through One Cash*. See how it works at One.Walmart.com/ONEAtWorkSave.
*One is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Coastal Community Bank, Member FDIC.
- HMO plans going away. In some areas, the Geisinger HMO plans will no longer be available in 2025. If you’re enrolled in one of these plans, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the Premier Plan and pay less per pay period, unless you make another choice. See below for more.
The lineup of plans you can choose from depends on your work location. All areas have access to the Premier Plan, and some offer other plans as well. If you choose the Premier Plan, you’ll get simple copays for doctor visits like you do now, but it’ll cost you less than what you pay per pay period today.
The list of in-network doctors and other providers will change when you change plans. However, most providers are in-network in more than one network, and many of the providers in your Geisinger plan are also in-network for our national plans like the Premier Plan. You can see the providers in your new network at IncludedHealth.com/Walmart.
Walmart works with three major third-party administrators —Blue Advantage Administrators of Arkansas, Aetna, and UMR— to help us administer our national medical plans like the Premier Plan. A key role of these administrators is maintaining networks of doctors and other providers at a competitive cost. We review and analyze these networks regularly to make sure we’re providing access to enough providers across all specialties so our associates have a choice of providers at a competitive cost, no matter where they live and work.
Not if you switch among the Premier, Contribution, and Saver plans. Each facility has a single administrator assigned to it for all these plans. So, if the administrator in your area is changing there’s no way to keep your current one. However, if you have an HMO plan available where you work, that plan will have a different administrator and a different network of providers.
The list of in-network doctors and other providers may change if your administrator does. However, most providers are in-network in more than one network, and many of the providers in your current network may also be in the new one. You can see who’s in your new network at IncludedHealth.com/Walmart.
The PPO Plan has been closed to new enrollment and is only available to associates who have previously enrolled in the plan. Because our systems show plans that are available at the facility level, not for each individual, Compare Plans still shows that plan as available for your location.
Our benefits team regularly reviews the plans and programs we offer to make sure associates have equitable access to plans that support their health and well-being. As a result of one of these reviews, we determined that the PPO medical plan option would no longer be available to new participants, and there will be no exceptions to this decision.
We're holding cost increases to a minimum again for 2025. Medical plan costs will go up for both Walmart and associates. Your cost for dental and vision coverage will stay the same, and your cost for optional short-term disability coverage will go down. As an associate, the health benefits available to you represent a significant component of your compensation package. They also provide important protection for you and your family in the case of illness or injury. Your plan offers a series of health coverage options. Choosing a health coverage option is an important decision. To help you make an informed choice, your plan makes available a Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC), which summarizes important information about any health coverage option in a standard format, to help you compare options. The SBC is available on One.Walmart.com/Health. A paper copy is also available, free of charge, by calling 800-421-1362.
