Vision Center 2.0

The Vision Center 2.0 layout has an elevated design that was driven by consumer and associate research. Check out the new upscale look

Leadership Messages

We are excited to debut our new Vision 2.0 design at store #3403 in Dallas, GA. This format also features the integration of Hearing evaluations as part of our expanding Specialty Care services.

It was designed and tested with/for patients, associates, and optometrists alike to deliver an elevated vision experience with the prices they’ve come to know and love at Walmart. For this store, we have also included additional frame brands such as Nike, Lacoste, Nine West, Calvin Klein, Nautica, and Timberland. All Vision Center associates received a 2-day Patient-First training prior to open on delivering patient care and quality service.

A couple notable features:

  • Walmart has created a Vision Center experience designed around the patient that is convenient, comfortable and affordable.
  • We’ve created a seamless patient experience, featuring multiple service areas so customers can decide how and where they want to receive service.
  • The state-of-the-art medical optometry office has advanced instrumentation and digital equipment to provide the best treatment and diagnosis.
  • An elevated environment that includes fresh product lighting, full length mirrors and fashion frame brands in shelves and open trays to encourage customers to try and touch frames to find the best fit and style.

Meet Melissa Day

Melissa Day, Sr Director Doctor & Patient Experience, Walmart US, Health & Wellness, Optical

Melissa Day has led consumer experience design for brands such as Nike, Microsoft, and Mercy Health Systems. She got her start in retail strategy and branding at Cincinnati and Portland, Oregon agencies before joining Luxottica to lead new prototypical experiences for brands like Target Optical and Sunglass Hut that look to expand the role and definition of “the store” across digital and physical. Expanding on this, Melissa joined Luxottica Eye Care to examine the patient perspective on experience, realizing that a better omni-journey across healthcare was needed.

Excited to take this challenge to a bigger scale, she joined Walmart Health & Wellness in Specialty Care, leading Doctor and Patient Experience in November of 2018. She has concentrated on the doctor value proposition for Walmart as well as ways to improve our quality patient experience in-store as well as in-office.
