Jerry Geisler serves as the senior vice president and chief information security officer (CISO) of Walmart’s global Information Security department. His responsibilities encompass data security not only for Walmart’s 230 million customers but also its 2.3 million associates. In addition, he oversees the information security strategy, engineering, operations, services, testing and assessment, risk and compliance for the global enterprise.
Walmart’s Information Security program, under Jerry’s leadership, is considered a forward-thinking industry-leader focused on emerging best-in-class information security practices, innovation and business enablement broadly engaged across IT, ICS, cloud, platform and product security domains.
Jerry serves the larger Information Security industry through speaking engagements, lectures and occasional publications. He is an advisory board member for the Team8 incubator and venture capital fund and a program committee member for the Executive Security Action Forum. He participates in a number of other forums to include Security 50 and the Corporate Research Board, among others.
An avid supporter of STEM programs, Jerry and his team actively support several local and national programs to encourage and promote the inclusive development of the next generation of technologists and security practitioners.
A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Jerry went on to earn undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Organizational Management, graduate degrees in Ethics and Leadership (M.S.) and an M.B.A. from John Brown University. He holds numerous technical certifications and has completed industry-recognized, professional education programs with both the Harvard Kennedy School (Cybersecurity & Policy) and Carnegie Mellon University (CISO Institute).
