Amanda M. Lee, O.D., joined Walmart U.S. as the Optometric Clinical Director in January 2019 with over 18 years experience in the optical industry. In 2000, Dr. Lee began her optical career working as an optician for National Vision located inside Walmart in Minot, ND. Shortly thereafter, she earned her American Board of Opticianry certification and continued to work as an ABO certified optician in various optical settings thru 2007. During this time, Dr. Lee graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 2003, and earned a Doctorate of Optometry with distinction from Pacific University, Forest Grove, OR, in 2007. Dr. Lee began her professional optometric career in 2007 as an independent doctor of optometry next to Walmart in Williston, ND. In January 2019, Dr. Lee transitioned to her new role after practicing as an independent doctor of optometry next to Walmart stores in ND for over 11 years. Thus far in her career, Dr. Lee has been recognized as the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association Student of the Year, Doctor of the Quarter for Walmart District 376 twice, and Doctor of the Year for Walmart District 376.
