Domestic violence affects millions of people each year. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience violence from their partners in their lifetimes, and 70% of domestic violence victims are harassed while at work.
What I Need to Do
  • Know your resources. Walmart has a suite of domestic violence resources linked below to help associates experiencing this issue. Through My Mental Health Resources powered by Lyra, associates can access a Domestic Violence Handbook, 24/7/365 Counseling, professional consultations, and a network of nationwide online and community resources. Home Office associates can contact Corporate Security for onsite support.
  • Recognize the signs of abuse. Domestic violence can occur in many forms. By seeing the warning signs and recognizing abuse, help can be found for the victim. Read the warning signs guide linked below to learn the most common signs of abuse.
  • Know what to do if you have a restraining order. Notify management if you applied for or are a subject of a restraining order. Management will follow the steps outlined in the document linked below.
  • Read the policies. Read our Violence-Free Workplace Policy to understand your responsibilities and how to take action.
