Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.’s lifelong commitment to servant leadership, Walmart is hosting a one-day, online MLK Day of Giving matching campaign for U.S. Walmart, Sam’s Club and brand family associates as well as any consumer on Jan. 18 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. EST.
Walmart will match $3 for every $1 donated by associates through Walmart.com/DayofGiving, up to $2 million, and subject to a $10,000 donation limit per associate. This means that only the first $10,000 donated by an associate is eligible for the Walmart match, up to the $2 million campaign limit, until the match is met. Walmart is also matching $2 for every $1 donated by consumers, up to $2 million, subject to a $5,000 donation limit per consumer, for a total of up to $4 million contributed to the Walmart Spark Fund for Charities at the Charities Aid Foundation of America.
