Where do I go and how do I get there?

See you at Welcome to Walmart!

Your first day orientation, known as Welcome to Walmart, is held in our Sam Walton Development Complex (SWDC) office located at 2001 SE 10th Street, Bentonville, AR

When you get to SWDC, you’ll check in with the recruiting team in the lobby. Remember the forms you filled out with DocuSign? By completing those forms your badge and your building access will be ready to go when you arrive! Once you check in and get your badge, just head upstairs to meet other new associates.

How should I prep?
  • Review this site to learn more about your first day.
  • Complete any DocuSign forms you have received. We’ll need those documents to get ready for you on Monday!
  • Check your inbox for email tasks from Workday. If you need help, there’s a phone number listed in the emails.
What will the day be like?

We have a packed first day planned for you! Don't worry, we promise to keep it fun while giving you everything you need to completely rock your new role. We'll take care of breakfast & lunch, have some SWAG for you and you'll get your new badge!

Tips for a great first day

Get comfy.

Settle in to the culture and focus on getting to know your Welcome to Walmart peers. Be open, be yourself, and the strong connections you make now will serve you throughout your career!

Know your value.

You're an asset to this company! As you start to understand your role and responsibilities, look for opportunities where you can add your signature touch.

Understand your purpose.

It will take some time to get oriented, but the sooner you understand your department and how it functions within the larger organization, the easier it will be to start making bold moves.

Embrace big.

So many people, so many teams! Learning how to navigate our organization will take a while, but you'll get there. Stay open, take ownership, and enjoy the amazing ripple effect of your good work.

Give me the perks!

Let's be honest...who doesn't like perks? We have some great ones for you.

Fitness Center

The Walton Life Fitness Center, or WLFC, is a centrally located gym available to associate's and their families. You’ll learn more about it during Welcome to Walmart and we’ll have a staff member on hand to answer any questions you might have.

Associate Pharmacy

Located at the Walmart Home Office, this pharmacy is open to our associates, their families and our customers. Front door parking is available and it’s a great option for a quick pick-up! You’ll be able to learn more on OneWalmart.

Printing and Shipping Discounts

At the Walmart Corporate Office, we get a lot of snail mail–because of this, we have our own post office on campus! It’s open at the Home Office during normal business hours and you can ship UPS, USPS, and FedEx at rates lower than the local offices. You can learn more here when you receive your Walmart credentials.

Associate Discount

You're working for a retail company so of course you will get a Walmart Associate Discount Card after 90 days of employment and get 10% off most items. Learn more on OneWalmart

Associate Store

Formerly known as the “Sample Store”, this is the place for ever changing bargains! Stocked with samples, merchandise from the layout center and other treasures at great prices, this is a store JUST for associates. Your discount card is required for entry, so mark your calendar for a trip in 90 days!

Resources to help you live well

From your health to your bank account, consider yourself covered head to toe.

Physical well-being

You’ll have access to competitive Health, Dental & Vision coverage, fitness centers with classes and personal trainers offered, flex PTO for salaried associates and accrued PTO for hourly associates. You’ll also have access to the ZP challenge and an opportunity to win $25,000, a bike share program to commute to meetings across campus and Resources for Living. You’ll learn a little more about each of these during Welcome to Walmart. Check out this link here to review our programs and benefit offerings.

Financial well-being

We offer corporate discounts through our discount center, an associate discount card to shop our stores and online, and there’s even an app to help you manage your money in real-time. That means more of your hard-earned money back in your pocket.

Diversity & Inclusion

We’re on a Road to Inclusion at Walmart, and our destination is a culture where every associate feels welcomed, comfortable and safe. This is a journey of service to our associates…yet it’s also a journey that’s powered by our associates. Every associate has the potential to be a spark that ignites momentum toward a more inclusive culture.

Associate Resource Groups

We value everyone's differences at Walmart and in 2003, we launched our first Associate Resource Group at our corporate office in Bentonville, AR. These groups have brought together associates with shared backgrounds and interests to engage with and learn from each other outside of their daily work lives.  Organically grown and associate driven, ARGs broaden participants’ community of associates as well as their knowledge of the business. By driving associate engagement and promoting a culture of inclusion, ARGs have helped connect associates across the eCommerce family of brands. Want to get involved? Don't worry! After your first day, you'll have access to sign up for the ARG's that interest you the most.

Tribal Voices

Giving & Volunteering

At Walmart, we are passionate about the communities in which we are based. It's important to us to be able to give back within those communities.

It's core to who we are to ensure we can help any and all live better. We encourage our associates to volunteer in their communities both in their personal and work time. We do this by encouraging teams to volunteer together or to have their associates volunteer on their own. We match donations to 11 approved organizations and we will donate money to any 501c3 organization that an associate volunteers 25 hours or more to.

Check out some big and small ways we give back across the enterprise!
