How do associates sign up?

Associates can visit guildeducation.com/Walmart and use their Walmart log-in credentials to sign-up for Live Better U!

Are the degrees all online or will there be any learning available in person?

These degrees are primarily offered online. These schools do have physical campuses and offer options to participate in on-campus learning if it fits your needs.

What if I already have college credit, but never finished my degree?

You’re a perfect candidate for Live Better U! The universities and programs offered are designed to help you maximize credit transfer, and a coach is available to help you determine which transfer credits are eligible.

How does credit for Academies training work?

College credit is based off which Academies training the associate has completed.  The amount of credit for Academy training may vary depending on your school. A Guild coach will help associates navigate their credit-for-training options.

Is the credit for Academy training only good for the specific Live Better U degree program?

Walmart associates can apply the college credit they earn through Academy training to a variety of degree options, extending beyond the $1/day programs within the Guild network.

How will associates contribute their equivalent of $1 per day?
  • Associates will contribute the equivalent of $1 per day toward their education while enrolled in the program directly to the university they are enrolled at. The contribution process and timing varies by university and program so be sure to talk to you coach about the details throughout your enrollment process.
  • Walmart will cover all fees and remaining tuition after the $1/day and any financial aid is applied.
  • Associates will receive reimbursement toward the cost of books and required course supplies. Computers and software are not currently covered.
Will Walmart deduct this contribution from my paycheck?
  • No. Associates will work with their Guild coach to contribute the equivalent of$1/day directly to the university where they are enrolled. How do the taxes work for the $1 per day program?
  • Walmart will cover state, federal and FICA taxes for this program beyond imputed income ($5,250). Walmart cannot provide individual income tax advice to any associate. If you need income tax advice based on your specific situation, you will need to consult with a tax specialist outside of Walmart.
How will I be reimbursed for my book purchases?

Associates will need to upload book proof-of-purchase as well as the related course syllabi through the Guild Education portal and will receive reimbursement through Walmart payroll after processing. The reimbursement portal is open to start submitting for reimbursement; processing may take up to 30 days from the date of submission to receive reimbursement. Participating associates should budget accordingly.

Associates will receive book reimbursement for enrolled courses only. If an associate drops a course before the final add/drop date, the associate should return their textbooks for a refund or they will be responsible for 100% of the cost of the book(s).

Do I have to buy all my books at once? Do I have to submit for reimbursement all at once?

No. Associates can submit multiple requests for books reimbursement throughout the year. Students should purchase books as required by their courses and submit for reimbursement when appropriate.

What if an associate is on Leave of Absence (“LOA”), or takes LOA while participating in the program?

All associates must be in active status to apply for the program and re-enroll each semester. Any associate on LOA is considered inactive. Associate eligibility is reviewed each semester and while associates can take LOA at any point during the semester, they must return to work to be eligible to re-enroll in their next semester. If employment status changes prior to the university course drop date for 100% refund, it is the responsibility of the associate to drop all courses or assume the whole cost associated with their college education for that term.

Will I be notified if I am no longer qualified for Live Better U?

Associates are only considered ineligible if they are on LOA or are terminated from the company once they are in the program. There will not be a notification if one of these instances occurs.

How long do I have to work at Walmart after I finish my degree?

There are no work requirements after you finish your degree.
