Increasing Team Lead Pay

After a thorough review, we’re increasing the starting pay of Team Lead positions to a minimum of $18 an hour to directly align with the work that’s being performed. Our Team Leads play a very important role, and we want to make sure we have the best talent in those jobs.

The following pay changes take effect Saturday, June 22, and be visible on their July 11 paycheck.

Information about FY21 Annual Increase

The compensation changes we’re making this week are a significant investment in our Team Leads and their future at Sam’s Club. Due to this investment, here is how annual increases will work for Team Leads in FY21 (2020).

  • If an associate received a 2% or greater increase on Saturday, June 22, they will not be eligible for a general increase in the first quarter of FY21. 
  • If an associate was hired or promoted into a Team Lead position on Saturday, June 22, or after, and received the new starting minimum, they will not be eligible for the general increase in the first quarter of FY21.
  • If an associate received less than 2% or no increase on Saturday, June 22, they will be eligible for a base pay increase in FY21.

View Individual Pay in Workday

Associate specific pay details will be available in Workday as of Monday, June 24. Type in the report name “Rep_Field Hourly Pay Changes to Location Manager” into the Workday search bar.

  • From there go to Organization > My Organizations > Select All Available Organizations
  • You do not need to check the “Include Subordinate Organizations” when you select by my organization.
  • If you see the notification to ‘Notify Me Later’ or ‘Cancel’ appears, the manager can select ‘Notify Me Later’, input a filename in the “Request Name” box and the report will be available in the manager’s ‘Notifications’ when completed. It should only take a few minutes to generate, otherwise the report will populate immediately.
