Key Details on Work Groups
- We’re moving to four work groups: Member Services, Merchandise Services, Fresh Services and Specialty Services.
- Current associates will be placed in a work group based on their current job code. The chart here shows which associates fall into which work group.
- Associates will be expected to work as a team across multiple areas of the club versus working in a specific location based on job code. For example, we will no longer have an associate assigned just to self-checkout or just to the Member Services Desk. A Self-Checkout Associate will now be part of the Member Services work group and be cross-trained to work in all front end roles.
- Introduced in November, we’re cross-training associates across more areas of the club, so they can be even more knowledgeable to better serve our members. Associates must be familiar with every job in their work group so they can step in at a moment’s notice.
- Club Managers should review the cross-training toolkit for reminders on how to cross-train associates through job shadowing.
- Your Training Sponsors should be responsible for ensuring cross-training is getting completed.
