Spotting a Forklift
This activity consists of enforcing safety around a forklift while it is in use during club hours of operation.
1. Associates are required to wear the yellow safety vests.
2. In addition to yourself, two spotters are needed, one in front and one in back, while operating the equipment on the sales floor or in the parking lot. Spotters must maintain a distance of 20 feet in front or behind the equipment while it is in motion.
3. Pull out the yellow aisle closure straps at the end of each aisle the forklift will be working in. They are located at the end of each aisle where the product is located. Associates will need to close both aisles, including the aisle where product will be dropped as well as the other side of the aisle. Ensure no members approach the area around the forklift.
