Skill Training Materials

We’ve developed new training materials that are quick and simple, and have gamification, to give associates the necessary skills to perform all tasks within their work group. Associates will take a majority of this training directly on the sales floor on a mobile device.

Quickstart

Quickstart is a quick 30-minute interactive learning experience that is completed in real-time, on the floor using a mobile device or TC-70. After completing Quickstart, associates will be able to:

  • Understand the four work groups
  • Recognize the benefits of skills training
  • Demonstrate how to work as a team across the work group, while having a member first mindset

Assistant Managers will facilitate Quickstart with the following steps:

  1. Collect as many club iPads as possible
  2. Gather associates in a large group and explain they will participate in a self-led game to learn about our new ways of working
  3. Divide associates into groups of 4-5 (each group needs and iPad)
  4. Have the groups navigate to QuickStart with the link provided.
Skills Development Center

The Skills Development Center will soon be available through Club Hub and give associates access to personalized, on-demand learning by role. It is designed for associates to complete three stages of learning. There they will find:

  • Specific learning topics for their work group
  • A description of the skills training they will need for their role
  • A “day in the life” guide that will help on the first 30 days in the new role.

To help us gather feedback before the chain-wide launch, we’d like the pilot club to help us test out the Skills Development Center for Jewelry. On this page, associates will find:

  • Jewelry Basics: Training on standards and processes of jewelry.
  • Jewelry Area Knowledge: Training on product knowledge and merchandising standards for the more in-depth jewelry processes.
