One on one conversations

Club managers should hold individual conversations with Overnight associates to explain the changes using the talking points provided.

Identify and Train additional Forklift Drivers

• Club Managers will need to ensure additional forklift drivers are identified and trained prior to launching the Morning Stock program (minimum of four per shift).
• Club Management Team - Provide the time, space, and forklifts for hands-on training.
• Salaried Manager – Assign the following GLMS learning activities to the Morning Stocking Associates. 

• Club Management Team – Use the following activity to ensure your Overnight associates know how to spot a forklift.

Spotting a Forklift: This activity consists of enforcing safety around a forklift while it is in use during club hours of operation.

1. Associates are required to wear the yellow safety vests 
2. In addition to yourself, two spotters are needed, one in front and one in back, while operating the equipment on the sales floor or in the parking lot. Spotters must maintain a distance of 20 feet in front or behind the equipment while it is in motion 
3. Pull out the yellow aisle closure straps at the end of each aisle the forklift will be working in. They are located at the end of each aisle where the product is located. Associates will need to close both aisles, including the aisle where product will be dropped as well as the other side of the aisle. Ensure no members approach the area around the forklift.

Organize Backroom

Walk your backroom and ensure that all old equipment, fixtures, and extra steel are properly disposed of and processed accordingly.

Equipment Review

The Club Manager will need to assess all forklifts and pallet jacks are in good working order. If equipment needs to be repaired, please submit a work order.

Steel Organization

Create the steel map plan.

1. Print out a Club print.
2. Club manager and assistant managers - Walk the sales floor together to visualize the plan.
3. Designed a staging location on the top steel reserve (third level of steel) for categories/aisles that do not have top stock steel.
4. For merchandise Stocked on a shelf, slot back stock merchandise in the reserve top steel Slot back stock merchandise above the product on the sales floor. If this is not possible, use the bay to the left or right.
5. Before you start implementing top stock plan, hold a partial pallet party to eliminate as many pallets as possible.

The Club will need to adjust their delivery windows to 4am – 10pm and block all out time the club is closed.
