Evening Shift: 3 pm - 11:30 pm
3 pm - 6:30 pm

The closing manager will hold a meeting with all associates that arrive at 3 pm and assign out tasks. It is very important that associates are remaining productive and completing assignments.

Those assignments include:

  • Priority: Ensure the photo, jewelry and TEO area are staffed appropriately
  • Priority: Stocking high velocity items (water, paper, soda, coffee, milk eggs) or any other items as needed. Items need to be staged on the receiving dock to avoid taking forklifts out on the sales floor around members.
  • Zone the club starting with higher velocity categories (paper, laundry, dry grocery).
  • Work inventory reports utilizing the Own Your Inventory app.
  • Assist in other work groups, as needed, such as being a runner to help the Member Services work group.
  • Clean and wipe down steel, sweep under pallets, ensure merchandise is to the edge of the pallet, and straight pallet lines.
  • Maintain backroom (around bailer, trash, etc.).
  • Work hot freight upon delivery
  • Work on other projects based on business need.
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Important: All floor associates should start zoning the club at 6:30 pm. This will ensure the club is ready to be stocked.

    • Continue to pick orders for Club Pickup.
    • While the associates are zoning, they will need to create drop list for items to be stocked that evening.
    • In addition, associates will create a drop list for items to be dropped and stocked by the morning associates. This is critical to the success of the program.
      • The closing manager will need to check how many associates are working the next morning and drop freight accordingly.
    • If there is any remaining merchandise on the receiving dock, one fork lift driver will be assigned to clear the dock when all the members are out of the building.
    • Dry deliveries will start arriving between 7 and 11 pm. The Closing Manager will designate an associate to unload and stage merchandise on the dock. If you receive more than one dry DC a night, unload the second and third deliveries, and run merchandise straight to the sales floor.
    • In addition, your Freezer, Dairy, Deli delivery window will be between 7 and 11 pm, and will need to be unloaded and run into the Freezers and Cooler. If your delivery arrives before the club closes, leverage your evening associates to help unload the trucks.
    8:30 pm - 11:30 pm

Important: Associates must start with stocking pods and endcaps first, then high velocity items or items out of stock in the run, followed by anything with low on hands.

    • Once the zone is complete the team can start stocking the following categories:
      • Category 4 – Table Top Bags
      • Category 8 – Pet Supplies
      • Category 13 – Laundry
      • Category 40 – Water, Juice, Sports Drinks
      • Category 52 – Soda
      • Category 94 – Paper Goods
      • Category 98 – Janitorial
    • High velocity items such as paper and water can be stocked first since some of the inventory will be staged on the receiving dock and will not need to be dropped from the steel.
    • Associates will drop merchandise for categories to be stocked in the morning. To drive maximum efficiency, items dropped must be ready to stock.
    • Ensure the floor is swept and ready for opening in the morning.
