Key Details: Full Time Associates

Block Schedules create two shifts for our non-salaried full-time associates, one AM and one PM seven days a week, giving base coverage across the day. Block schedules are eight-hour shifts with consistent days off every week. Associates should be placed into a block scheduled based on his/her work group, tenure with the company (except for Fresh Team Leads) and availability.

Each Club Manager will receive a block schedule availability worksheet to help assist with your conversations with full-time non-salaried associates regarding block scheduling. Here are key details about the worksheet and how you should use it:

Accessing the Worksheet

Each Club Manager will receive an email from your Market Champion with your club-specific worksheet. It will give you visibility to the number of shifts you have each day of the week for AM and PM by work group.

Associate Tenure

The worksheet will provide a roster of full-time associates and his/her tenure with the company. Associates with the longest tenure, except for Fresh Team Leads, should be given first choice on preference of shift – the days of the week they’d like to work and AM or PM. Putting associates in a position based on tenure is a one time occurrence. All future open positions should be posted and follow the normal process. Fresh Team Leads will be given a shift based on their area of responsibility and needs of the business.

Associate Availability
  • Before and during associate conversations, Club Managers should do the following:
    • Download your club-specific worksheet to your desktop and save it. Important Note: The worksheet WILL NOT work on a tablet, and should NOT be pre-filled out by a Club Manager prior to associate conversations.
    • When having associate conversations, use the worksheet to see the length of tenure of the associates in each work group. This will help guide you on which associates should receive first choice.
    • Use the worksheet to capture each associate’s preference of shift. Every time the worksheet is modified, be sure to save changes, as you will need to reference this to build out the block schedules. This will help you finalize shifts after you have conducted all of the associate conversations.
