We’ve been named Retailer of the Year at the prestigious Quality Food Awards

We’re really proud to have won a massive 126 awards at the Quality Food and Drink Awards, including the biggest and most sought after Retailer of the Year. And it’s not just this year we’ve been recognised with this fantastic award, we’ve been crowned it three times now, including last year! The big awards don’t stop there; we were named Meat Retailer of the Year and Vegan Retailer of the Year – highlighting the hard work we’ve put in to making our products great quality for everybody.


Through the most difficult circumstances, our colleagues have been working really hard to make sure we offer great quality products for our customers and these awards show that they can trust us to deliver – and we haven’t let a pandemic get in the way!

A lot of our bakery Christmas desserts were recognised in the awards. Developing the products during lockdown certainly brought challenges but it’s clear to see the hard work has paid off.

Safari Animals
Our safari animals launched at the start of the year have received fantastic feedback from our customers. The 100% chicken breast Lions, Elephants and Giraffes are coated in a wholegrain crumb and attracted lots of attention!

Duckless Spring Rolls
A firm favourite in our chilled Plant Based range since launch in January. These meat free and Vegan Society approved rolls are super crisp and generously stuffed. Packed full of shredded duck-style soya protein, crunchy carrot, water chestnuts, beansprouts and spring onion which is all coated in a rich hoisin style sauce. Delicious!

Moroccan Style Lamb Koftas
Recently launching as part of our new ready to cook range these delicious lamb koftas come in a spiced tomato sauce and are generously sprinkled with pomegranate and fresh coriander. Great shared between two and served with our rainbow veg and spicy potato wedges.

Plant Based Smoky Three Bean Chilli
Packing a punch, our plant based Smoky three bean chilli is filled with black turtle beans, pinto beans and kidney beans, in a rich, sweet and smoky tomato sauce. This vegan society approved recipe is the perfect alternative to the Mexican classic, serve in soft shell tacos with guacamole. This quick meal solution is filling and tasty and is free from artificial colours and flavours.

Extra Special Triple Chocolate Gronola

This is a recent addition to our Extra Special cereal range. The crisp granola is scattered with dark, milk and white chocolate and made with British oats and sustainable cocoa.

Orange and Mango squash
Our orange and mango double strength squash is a firm favourite for all with its refreshing flavour and natural fruit juices. It contains 20% fruit juice from oranges and mangos and has no added sugar making it the perfect addition to a glass of water. Each bottle makes 60 servings.

Milk Chocolate Oatie Crumbles
These have been a staple for many of our customers over the years as well as a favourite in my family and it is great to see it getting the recognition it deserves.

Extra Special Chocolate Florentines
These are a really indulgent treat for the festive season! Packed full of almonds, fruit and caramel on top of a thick base of sustainably sourced Belgian milk chocolate they are a perfect way to treat yourself and your family.

Free From Red Pesto
Based on an authentic Italian recipe, this pesto is packed with the flavours of Mediterranean sundried tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, fragrant Italian basil and pine nuts, all blended carefully with the sweetness of carrots and red peppers, making this pesto an ideal sauce to accompany gluten free pasta, rice or grains. Free From milk, egg and gluten and approved by the vegan society.

Free From Marc De Champagne Truffles
Smooth and indulgent Free From Marc de Champagne truffles blended with Belgian dark chocolate, a splash of champagne and rolled in a sweet dusting. Free From Milk, egg and gluten, vegan society Approved using 100% sustainably sourced cocoa.

Free From Tricolore Fusilli
Made with naturally gluten free corn and rice flours, each pasta shape is designed for food perfection. Our tricolore fusilli twists hold lighter, thinner sauces in each turn, for full-flavoured forkfuls. So stir in a rich tomato sauce for the perfect pasta pairing.

Extra Special Free From Salted Honeycomb and Raspberry Milk Choc Slab
Prepared with smooth milk and gluten free choc, our salted honeycomb and raspberry slab is infused with sumptuous Madagascan vanilla and finished with a scattering  of crunchy salted honeycomb and sweet raspberry pieces. Vegan Society Approved using sustainable cocoa under the Cocoa Horizons programme.

Extra Special mint Chocolate
A classic combination – the finest bittersweet cocoa is highlighted with cool peppermint. Our Extra Special chocolate bars are crafted in collaboration with carefully selected cocoa bean farmers who are supported to produce cocoa using best-practice methods that are kind to the planet.
