Thank you for supporting the Poppy Appeal 2021

This year marks 100 years of the Royal British Legion, and we’re proud to support the return of Poppy Appeal collectors in our stores, depots, and home offices.

The money raised through your generous donations serves as a lifeline for thousands of serving and ex-serving personnel and their families and helps create better futures for our Armed Forces and their loved ones.

Keep reading for just a few of the fundraising stories from our stores, and share yours with us on Instagram @our.asda or send to ourasda@asda.co.uk.

You can also donate directly to the Royal British Legion here and Poppy Scotland here.

Well done to Swindon Haydon front-end manager Chris who raised money for the Royal British Legion through a sponsored head shave, in memory of Poppy Appeal fundraiser George, who was a familiar face at the store until he passed away earlier this year.

George visited the store every year to sell poppies and was a firm favourite with customers and colleagues alike, with his warm nature and wonderful stories.

Community Champion Jane said:

"Chris decided he wanted to do something to help and pay tribute to George. We invited George’s sons Shaun and Darren, and his niece Jill, to come along and be part of the event, and with the help of colleague donations Chris managed to raise over £500 for the appeal. I'm sure George would have been proud."

Poppy sellers Alan, Norman, Andy, and Gerry, from the Royal British Legion, were welcomed back into Newark store by Community Champion Sinead.

Wrexham's Community Champion, Mary, was proud to present Colin and Janet with their 10 year anniversary certificate for volunteering with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Joanne, Community Champion in Darlington welcomed the volunteers from the Royal British Legion into their store. They will be in store selling poppies until Remembrance Sunday.

Danielle, Bishop Auckland's Community Champion, is happy to have the Royal British Legion in store collecting money for the Poppy Appeal until Saturday 13th November. They have lots of goodies for sale so don't forget to have a look whilst in store and support a great cause.
