Colleague Thank You Week – Day three

Today we're proud to launch our latest ad which features our super hero colleagues, thanking everyone for stepping up over the last few months when it's been needed the most.

Today’s thank you messages

Early shift team

"I would like to say a big thank you to our early shift team here at Lutterworth IDC depot.

"During COVID-19 I stepped up to stand in as a shift manager and the team has been a great support to me. It's been a pleasure to lead such an amazing team and I'm proud to work with such an incredible bunch - thank you all!"

Jonathan Simkin

"I'd like to nominate my Section Leader Jonathan Simkin at Chorley Ringway supermarket. Jonathan had the option to isolate, but has chosen to work during the past 12 weeks which I will be forever grateful for. Jonathan's partner is a manager at Asda too and they have been working back-to-back so their young children are well looked after, meaning their time together has been limited."

Nominated by Shaun Wynn, Chorley Ringway Supermarket

Scott Bowe

"I’d like to thank one of my security section leaders, Scott Bowe. Scott supported Gateshead superstore when we closed, but when we came back to Gateshead Living store, he worked seven days straight to support the store. Not only did he do this, but he also received a customer compliment too!"

Nominated by Laura Dennington, Gateshead Living

Angela Nenna-Chapman, Home Office

  • "I would like to thank all of our optical teams in store who have been working in really challenging and new ways to ensure that even during lockdown we were there for our communities for any eye care needs. • "Thank you to Will Harrison in the tech team who was a fantastic support to me when we first went into lockdown. I started in a new remote role at the start of lockdown and Will was very helpful and patient and ensured that I was set up as quickly as possible with my new laptop and phone and all tech access which allowed me to get up and running quickly. Whether through responding very promptly to emails, setting up Zoom calls to work through the issues, following up with others to ensure access was set up and then supporting me in my new role which helped support the new PBPs get set up quickly to all their new equipment and remote working. Thank you Will you are a star and deserve some special recognition." Susie Fairweather
Stories from across the Walmart world

As we’ve stepped up and continued our amazing support over the past few months, our 2.2 million fellow colleagues from across the Walmart world have been doing the same.

When everything stopped, Xiangbin Zhang who works at a store in Yichang Yichang China, started peddling!

Xiangbin dug out an old bike that hadn't been ridden for 10 years and cycled 20 miles to get to his store: “The colleagues needed me, and the customers needed me."

Here's a selfie of Jennifer Dupree and the team at Shreveport Walmart store in LA who oversee a COVID-19 drive-thru testing site that's been set up in the car park.

It's just one of many drive-thru sites Walmart has launched to help fight the battle against COVID-19 — with more opening every day.

Colleagues at Walmart Friendswood in Texas wanted to make sure mother-to-be Dakota felt special even while social distancing, so they celebrated her and Baby Isaac with a drive-thru baby shower!

Jen and Lori who work at the vision centre in Ontario store, Canada, made this sign to show some love for all the other frontline workers.

The team used the small hearts to write their own appreciation messages on.
